  • Finding Purpose in Retirement

Janice Rebstock, Janis Fields & Brenda Ephron

    Location: Encounter Church Lobby

    Day: Monday

    Time: 11:00 am-12:30 pm

Are you looking for identity and purpose since retirement? Many folks at this stage of life question their reason for getting up every morning.

The break from working is a wonderful change at first, then reality sets in! What am I supposed to do now? What am I living for? How am I supposed to live out the rest of my days? I’ve worked all my life.

I believe this is our best time in life!! One where God fills us with a new purpose. A life that blesses others as we ourselves get blessed! Join us as we identify our God-given purpose after the age of retirement.

We can’t wait to see you there!

  • Beloved Identity in Christ

    Laura Simon & Kayce Laurie

    Location: Shenandoah Area

    Day: Monday

    Time: 6:30 pm-7:30 pm

Colossians 3:12 says that in Christ we are “holy, chosen, and beloved.”  In this Bible study, we will look at what it means to have the beloved identity of God. At the end of each study, you will have the opportunity during the week to meditate and reflect on what we learned.

Over this 12-week semester our goal is that through our time reading, studying, and talking about God’s Word that we will not only understand our identity in Christ, but live out the identity that we have in Him.

Can’t wait to see you here!

  • The Chosen

    Bill & Cathy Clifford

    Location: Clifford Home

    Day: Monday evening

    Time: 6:30 pm-8:30 pm

Join me for an interactive Bible study based on The Chosen. This Bible study is designed to bring both Old and New Testaments to life in a brand-new way.

Being chosen by Jesus has beautiful and far-reaching implications, although it says even more about the Chooser than the chosen. We are loved because HE LOVED! We are saved because HE’s merciful! We belong to the family of GOD because Jesus has paid our debt in full. It is all because of HIM! This Bible study will lead us straight to JESUS!

Being chosen means: You are called, you rest, are cherished, you change course, are a witness, made new, established, and are carried.

    Day: Wednesday

    Time: 10:30 am-12:00 pm

We do not despair but cling to God, even when we cannot see what God is doing.  No matter how wise or rich or successful we may be, we cannot find meaning in life apart from God.

Let’s journey together for the next weeks as we delve into God’s wisdom!

Encounter Church is bringing a new grief support group to our church family and to our local community.  We are very excited to announce the start of Griefshare, established for people grieving the death of a family member or friend.  The death of a spouse, child, family member or friend is devastating. You don't need to go through the process alone. Join a caring group of people to walk along with you through one of life's most difficult experiences.

This amazing program points to God’s word and healing for times of grief.  Each of the 13 weekly meetings will include a video message and support group discussion.  The Griefshare workbook will further a personal study of the grieving process.  Our meetings start September 12 at 1p on Sunday afternoons and are held in the EC classroom.
