Once upon a time... Marriage was forever. It was a covenant that knit one man and one woman together. This weaving made both stronger, nobler, and more vibrant expressions of who they were created to be. They were better together than either had been on their own.

The wedding ceremony was but a beginning. It was the gateway to build their happily ever after. Each choice and action was designed to construct the life their union represented. Husband and wife walked into the great unknown with hearts, hands, and voices intertwined to express the love of their Creator.

How did we lose touch with this profound love story? In The Story of Marriage, John and Lisa Bevere invite you to rediscover God's original plan. Whether you're married, single, or engaged, your story is a part of His.

This is going to be a great teaching (via DVD) that you don’t want to miss. Sing up today so we can grow in our marriage relationships.

The ‘story of marriage’ book is available on Amazon for around $15…not needed for the class, but strongly recommended.

    Time- 6:00-7:00pm

    Location- Encounter Church (Sanctuary)

    Cost- None

Childcare- No (but kids are welcome with parents)

When we pray….GREAT THINGS begin to happen and take place!

The number one reason our prayers are not answered is because we (first) don’t pray and ask God to meet our needs. Prayer is the simplest yet most effect way we can see God bring miracles to our lives. You don’t have to be perfect…you just NEED TO PRAY (Talk to God about it All!).

Why not join us each week to do exactly that- to pray for one hour together. It’s a great opportunity to ‘quiet’ your life and to hear from God.

Each week we will have a short devotion on prayer to help and encourage you in your prayer life.

Make plans to be with us weekly from 6-7pm for prayer…and stay afterwards to catch up with others and to connect. Kids are welcome to come with parents, just remember they must be respectful and quiet during prayer time. Bring them an I-pad or coloring book- it’s a great environment for them to be in!

We’re looking forward to seeing God move and answer your prayers!

  • Cycle small group - Frank Phillips

    Saturday (Bike ride)

    901 Stanford Ave,

    Baton Rouge, LA 70808

Cost- No (But you will need a bike)

    Childcare- No

We will meet on Saturday mornings @7:00 a.m. at the Milford Wampold Memorial Park. At this time of day it is cooler and there is less vehicular traffic. Also, it leaves more Saturday time to do honey-do’s or spend chill time with your family.

After a short devotion we would ride the lollipop route, which runs mostly along East Lakeshore Drive and then loops around the City-Brooks Community Park along a bike path, returning the way we came. We would ride about an hour and a half at a pace of 15-19 mph depending on the ability of the cyclists who participate, and end the ride around 9:00 a.m.

At that pace we would probably be able to do the 7 mile route 3 times, stopping briefly after each loop, if necessary, to allow people to use the bathroom or get a drink of water or a snack from their car. The park has bathrooms and a drinking fountain.

The first time we ride I would go over the route, basic bicycle safety rules, and riding safely as a group. Everyone will be required to wear a helmet, and they should also bring water and tools/patches for fixing a flat.

This is going to be a really fun small group however a liability waiver will have to be signed in order to participate.
